After
a three-way creative pitch, Manchester-based agency Reform Creative
won the commission to re-brand Warrington Borough Council’s
arts and entertainment centre, Pyramid & Parr Hall.
Situated together in Warrington’s cultural quarter, Pyramid & Parr
Hall are distinct venues that offer a diverse programme of events for
a wide range of audiences, including music, comedy, drama, dance, exhibitions
and participation events.
Reform’s brief was to represent these diverse elements in one unified
identity. Their solution was to design an identity with a bespoke typeface
for each venue, with subtle differences reflecting the contemporary feel
of Pyramid in contrast to the more traditional atmosphere of Parr Hall.
The identity includes a multi-coloured ‘sun’ graphic which
represents the venue’s shared purpose in delivering a diverse, high-quality
programme for a wide range of audiences. Together with the modern type
style, the graphic captures the venues’ dynamic, forward-looking
personality, and is used as a navigation icon across a range of marketing
material.
Reform also created a Live sub-brand, which is used to
badge a variety of printed items, including a new-look season brochure.
Phil Slorick, General Manager at Pyramid & Parr Hall commented:
“I
was familiar with Reform’s impressive track-record, and their
design solution did not disappoint. They have met all our expectations
in delivering
innovative ideas that successfully represent the diverse nature of our
events and audiences.”
Paul Heaton, Creative Director of Reform added:
“We are delighted to have
won and completed this fantastic project. It has been a great creative
challenge and Reform are looking forward to working
on future projects with Pyramid & Parr Hall.” |
